Addiction Therapies That Work

12 Steps Therapy for Drugs & Alcohol Addiction Treatment

12 Steps for Sustainable Sobriety

The path of recovery is a progression.

The 12 Steps help pave the way for that progression.  In doing so, it has helped more people recovering from addiction than perhaps any other framework today.  It is used around the world to help fight addictions of all kinds.  At NSR of Asheville, it plays an integral part in what we do.

Our program is designed to provide a pathway along the journey.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Addiction has neurological and psychological causes.

Therefore, the path to recovery runs through your brain.  CBT is one of the most trusted forms of clinical therapy in use today.  It helps people in recovery identify unhealthy thoughts and behavior patterns.  Then, it empowers them to transform these negative habits.

At NSR of Asheville, we use CBT to help our men create better lives.

Acceptance and change are crucial to recovery.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy builds on the base of CBT to help develop skills for a happy, healthy life.  NSR of Asheville helps men develop the emotional resilience they need to thrive.  This includes mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and more.

DBT skills help men better deal with life’s highs and lows.

Adventure Therapy

Recovery is the Real Adventure.

Getting sober is always the first step.  But what comes next?  More often than not, early recovery feels desolate and hopeless.  River rafting, paintball, and high ropes remind the men in our program that it’s possible to feel truly alive without the use drugs and alcohol.

At NSR of Asheville, we use FUN to fight addiction.

Discipline and emotional control improve quality of life.

Luckily, they can be developed.  All that’s required is real-world application.  Yoga, meditation, and martial arts help our residents develop into stronger men.  Emotional regulation is a priceless skill.  Our program helps young men equip themselves with this and other skills.

Empower yourself to bring a positive future into focus.

Dual Diagnosis

Addiction often coincides with other issues.

For anyone suffering from co-occurring disorders, dual diagnosis is crucial.  Addiction can do plenty of damage on its own, but paired with other mental illnesses, it can completely ruin lives.  At NSR of Asheville, we give all mental conditions the respect they deserve.

Dual diagnosis and holistic treatment lead to sustainable sobriety.
