Planned Giving

NSR of Asheville is a 501c3 Non-Profit, helping young men with Substance Use and Co-Occurring Disorders have access to high-quality recovery programs in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, since 2006.

These men may be coming from inpatient treatment, medical detox, or when regular outpatient services are not enough. We work with many other clinical referring professionals in providing placement for their patients and we even provide transportation. We are different than a regular Sober Living Home, we are Extended Care. We have several programs in place such as Peer Recovery Support Specialist on staff, Interventionists, Outdoor Adventure Programs, Career Skill Building, and more.

The second purpose of our Non-Profit is to help future clinicians earn their licenses. We have a wonderful program for this. It makes us proud every day to be able to help mold their futures and help them gain experience in our unique Adventure Recovery Programs and our innovative Extended Care Model.

Because of the nature of addiction, many of our program participants come to us having lost nearly everything: their jobs, their savings, their personal relationships, their health, and their sense of worth.

Our highly structured and comprehensive recovery programs give our residents the best opportunity for long-term recovery. Our residents move from hopelessness to dignified, self-sufficient, and successful lives in sustained long-term sobriety.

Your generosity can help offset the expense of early recovery care when individuals are focused on restoring their health, developing relapse prevention skills, and securing full-time employment or education. There are many ways you can help bridge the gap between despair and recovery. Your gift—no matter how large or small—helps change and save lives.

Scholarship Fund

NSR of Asheville is committed to providing high quality Extended Care and Sober Living Environments for young men.

Our scholarship fund helps remove financial barriers so they can have access to this type of high quality care for achieving long-term sobriety. High quality care is having evidenced-based programs and qualified certified staff. Your donation helps provide this type of care to young men who would not have been able to afford it on their own. Your donation aids in healing and recovery for long-term self-sufficiency and a meaningful life.

Program Support

NSR of Asheville offers a variety of structured programs to ensure our participants have the support they need to be successful in long-term recovery. Program-specific donations help us ensure we can continue to offer innovative and evidence-based recovery services. Whether it is our Wilderness Adventure Programs, Interventionists, Career Skills Training, or our Life Skills Learning, we individualize each program to our residents’ specific needs which helps produce the greatest chance of success.

Fundraising Events

Fundraising events are great ways to support our scholarship fund for those with financial need. These events are also wonderful ways to eliminate stigma and raise awareness in your community for the needs of those living with substance use disorders. If you would like to host a fundraising event to support NSR of Asheville’s scholarship fund, we would love to partner with you and can help you get started.

The NSR of Asheville Endowment

Built on the generosity of alumni and friends, our endowment fund helps us generate a predictable income that guarantees our organization’s long-term financial health while enabling us to assist individuals and families with financial need. The NSR of Asheville Endowment also helps us invest in our non-profit’s growth. You can make a contribution in honor or memory of an individual or family. This naming opportunity is a meaningful commemoration that brings about real change for good.

"Before coming to NSR of Asheville, my life was in tatters. I felt defeated. The first day I arrived and was swinging. I was so angry. I was lost, hurt, and confused. I was living in paralyzing fear; yet, this place, these people, accepted me... They have shown me that a new life is possible. The staff here helps me grow into a better man every day... I owe the person I am today to NSR of Asheville's guidance."

T.A., Beloved Resident

"I am so grateful for NSR of Asheville and all the staff members. This is definitely the place I needed to come after I got out of treatment. Here I got connected to the recovery community in Asheville and made some good friends here at the houses. They have not only taught me what I need to do to stay clean but I have learned so many life lessons while I was here. I will stay in contact with them because this place has given me my life back and for that I am so grateful!"

Z.A., Beloved Resident

"NSR of Asheville was exactly what I needed in the early stages of my recovery! I spent so many years of my life hiding behind a bottle, and I couldn’t take it anymore! Susan and her staff helped me to get back on my feet and start the process moving on and loving life without the use of alcohol or drugs. After my 3 months here, I chose to stay in Asheville and continue to work on my self, with their guidance. I couldn’t imagine my life today if I was still stuck in my old ways, Thank you NSR of Asheville!"

My son completed 3 months of sober living at NSR of Asheville, surrounded by kind, caring and compassionate staff, with all the skill sets required of true professionals to guide and assist him in living a productive, healthy , sober and happy life. He flourished and started to smile and enjoy life again during those three months. He now is starting to build a career for himself and is enjoying the normal things in life that had been missing for so many years. As a family we have been blessed to have been connected with NSR of Asheville. Thank you.
